1974 International Scout II
This 1974 International Scout II is a fully restored example, finished in Ceylon green paint with a white removable hardtop over a tan leather interior. It has been driven just under 900 miles since the restoration. The mileage on the odometer remains as the mileage the body had prior to restoration. The drivetrain has been completely updated by Anything Scout and features an LS3 V8 producing 495 horsepower, paired with a 6-speed transmission and Dana 300 transfer case. Other major upgrades include hydro-boost disc brakes, all-new wiring, a brass radiator, and an electric cooling fan.
Prior to the drivetrain work, this Scout underwent a full frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration by Zinger Customs. The process included stripping everything down to bare metal, repairing or replacing all mechanical components, fully restoring the interior with new carpet and tan vinyl, and repainting it to the original factory color using high-quality materials. We have been around high end restorations for decades, and can truly say the paint quality on this truck has to be seen in person. It is perfect.
Modern enhancements include Truck-Lite LED headlights, a new Kenwood Bluetooth receiver hidden in the glovebox, a JL Audio subwoofer hidden behind the spare tire (such a cool hidden install), and a Rockford Fosgate amplifier. It retains the original radio in place for that vintage look. Additional custom modifications include roof rack-mounted "eyelids" designed to allow one person to remove the hardtop, provided a dolly system is in place. That is an incredibly useful upgrade that also blends in to the original rack. This is truly a one-of-a-kind, impeccably restored Scout that you won’t find anywhere else. Both the restoration and drivetrain upgrades are fully documented, with over $150,000 invested in the build. The vision behind this project was to stay true to the originality of the Scout while integrating all the right modern touches for improved performance and comfort.
